I thought the second article was very good. It offered a lot of information and ideas that teachers can and should use. The article basically talked about different ways that teachers could help improve a student’s vocabulary and the understanding of vocabulary. I was really interested in students understanding the specific breakdown of a word. Which means understanding the root word, prefix etc. I have heard that this is how competitive spellers learn and it seems to work for them. The article was very good and covers things that are relative to the real world. The examples of strategies in this article were great!

Rodney…
Two of my favorite guys (above^).
Vocab instruction is going to be a big part of our “L.A. experience”…guess we better find as many creative ways to get it done as we can.

I liked the article also. Breaking words down to their roots has great benefit, especially in science.
